The California Custom Knife Show, sponsored by Plaza Cutlery, was the first major knife show on the west coast, and is in the greater Anaheim\Disneyland area making it convenient for attendees from Orange County, as well as Los Angles County.

The format is same as the first show in 1981. We feature the finest in custom hand made knives, a few handpicked small semi-production companies, as well as suppliers, and engravers. This has always been a fun show with a nice crowd! The Embassy Suites is located in the row of hotels that run down Harbor Boulevard from Disneyland to just past the Anaheim Convention Center. Starting the show on Saturday morning makes it very easy to attend, and you can be there when the show opens as there should not be much traffic on the freeways Saturday morning. So if you are in San Diego to Santa Barbra you can drive down in the morning, and return home in the evening very easily.  But why not spend the night and enjoy the weekend in this resort area? Disneyland and South Coast Plaza are close by!

These knife makers are experts in crafting folding knives of all types, pocket knives with multi-blades to one bladed, tactical folding knives. Also fixed blade knives for hunting, fishing, work, and combat military use. Anything imaginable can be done! There are also steel forgers who forge their own steel or damascus (two types of steels folded into one another for multiple layers of steel) to make beautiful bowie knives or even samurai swords. Their work is amazing and a must see if you like knives!

One major difference in this show compared to others is that each knife maker by attending agrees not to sell any knives until the show opens to the public and then wait until 10:15 so everyone has a chance to get to the knife maker they want to see and possibly buy from. If two people want the same knife the maker will flip a coin or use other means to determine who has the right to buy the knife. This applies to dealers as well, so even the dealers have to wait until 10:15 before they can buy! This is the only show that gives you the customer the first opportunity! Only exception is a knife maker making a delivery from a past order!

Some knife makers such as John Young, Les George, Ernie Emerson, and Rick Hinderer will do drawings later after the show opens as the demand is very high for their knives. This will be posted out in front of the show on the floor map as the makers let us know. Remember you are paying for these knives, the lottery is just for the right to buy the knife. The California Custom Knife Show, sponsored by Plaza Cutlery, was the first major knife show on the west coast, and is in the greater Anaheim\Disneyland area making it convenient for attendees from Orange County, as well as Los Angles County.
